Getting Started

Before you start! #

  • This community operates exclusively off of your Discord account. Be sure you have an account with Discord
  • When you start you should be on the Discord account you would like to progress on otherwise you may lose access to your FOC assets in the future.
  • Read the entire Getting Started and the Rules pages before applying to FOC

Your First Steps #

The first thing you should do is get to know the wiki. The wiki has answers to a lot of your questions like discord commands, rules, mod downloads, and much more. You should check the wiki often because it is a work in progress and more will be added and modified.

The second thing you should do is check out our discord and get familiar with how it’s laid out because a lot happens on our discord. From sending money and finding jobs to land leases and auctions.

If you have questions about FOC or need help with a problem a good place to start is in #questions on the discord (or in #welcome-room if you are not whitelisted).

Wiki #

On the Wiki, we have a ton of information and you can see the tabs for this information on the left-hand side. We have you covered for Seasons, the Contracting server, our rules, and our mod packs.

Be sure to keep checking on the Wiki as more information will be added as we progress.

  • Rules: Lists all of the rules for FOC.
  • Contracts: Provides a guide to doing NPC contracts
  • Mods: Install guide and links to mod download
  • Header Combinations: A list of all allowed Harvester and header combinations allowed in FOC
  • Discord Commands: A list of helpful discord commands.
  • Geo and Economy: A guide to our custom crop calendar.
  • Bank: A guide to the FOC banking system.
  • Realty: A guide to buying and selling land.
  • Logging Permits: Information on getting a logging permit.

Discord #

As you browse our discord you will notice a lot of channels and it may seem a bit overwhelming. So here are the basics of the main channels we have:

  • #questions: If the answer cannot be found on the wiki use this channel to ask for help.
  • #mod-suggestions: If you think our servers can be improved by a mod suggest it here (Note: High MB mods will not be considered)
  • #general: For all your chatting and just conversational topics
  • #bot-stuff: This is where you enter your bot commands, please use this channel as it keeps the other channels free of clutter.
  • #player-adverts: Where the Farm Managers will post jobs they need doing. Feel free to browse but don’t reply to any advertisements in these channels. Use PM or Ping them in general. Note: There is a $2k fee to post in this channel.
  • #player-contracts: This channel is used by our players to list contracts that need to be done on their farm(s). You can work for a real player here.
  • #contractor-bulletins: This channel is for contractors to post in when they are looing for work or have farming/logging services to provide.

You will notice that each of our servers has a channel dedicated to it. This channel works two ways! That means that in-game chat comes to discord and discord chat goes to the game. This channel allows us to chat with people in-game and let them know that we are syncing into the game.

It’s considered polite to type “Sync” into the discord channel of the server you are joining about a minute before you join.

Farmer roles #

There are a few roles available to you as you progress through our community. They are detailed below:

Contractor #

This is the first role every member of the FarmersOnly.Club will start in. In this role, it’s your objective to earn money by completing both NPC Server contracts and contracts for Farm Managers. In this role, you cannot own land but you can work for other players on any of our servers.

As a contractor you have access to post in #contractor-bulletins this channel is for you to advertise yourself and any farm/logging services you are willing to provide. The channel is fee to post in and only contractors are allowed to do so.

As a contractor you may not own land, you must be a Farm Manager on a server in order to purchase and own land. Once you have completed 18 days in the community (from the time of whitelist) you become eligible to apply to be a Farm Manager, providing you have met the criteria listed in the section below.

More information on server contracts can be found here: Contracts

Farm Manager #

Farm Manager role comes after being a contractor for at least full 18 days from first whitelist, as well as earning at least $250k from contracting.  When applying for FM your first time you will be given a one-time credit that may be used on any equipment or land. The credit will be determined by your balance when you apply for FM, essentially doubling your starter cash by up-to $375,000.

Example: If you apply for FM with $300k, you’ll be given 300k and essentially start your Farm Manager journey at 600k, if you apply with $500k you will only be able to receive a $375k credit. This credit is one-time and will not be provided for any future FM applications or moves.

In this role, you may now own land on a server that has an opening for a FM. (The Discord command for an application is: “/user applyfm server: #”).

Farm Managers will start with what they have earned, so save up!  After being assigned a farm, Farm Managers will have access to an in-game loan of $250,000 and may apply with the Bank for an additional loan.

All Farm Managers will have the following purchasing limits on their first purchase:

  • One to five parcels up to $600,000 in total value
  • One or two parcels up to $750,000 in total value
  • One parcel up to $1,000,000 in value

A server commissioner who has never been an FM before will have the following limitations on their first land choice:

  • One to three parcels up to $1,250,000 in total value
  • One parcel of any value

A server commissioner will have the following limitations if going to a new server from an existing one on their land choice:

  • One to five parcels up to $600,000 in total value
  • One or two parcels up to $750,000 in total value
  • One parcel up to $1,000,000 in value

Server commissioner is defined as the original sponsor of the map or longest standing supporter on any given server.

These land picks cannot be sold for 30 days after selection and becoming FM. If your farm is liquidated for any reason your selection will be sold back to npc without being made available for auction.

Note: If you’ve already acquired land on a server via auction you may not pick a starter parcel. Starter parcels are always your first land in FOC.

Server Commissioner #

The Server Commissioner is the individual who is monetarily supporting the server. This person is the representative for your server, More information on how to become a Server Commissioner can be found here: Roles

Things to know #

Do NOT leave your farm #

When you are a Farm Manager do NOT leave your farm for any reason if you do you run the risk of losing all permissions to your farm and someone else being given those powers by our automation. The only way to regain your Manager’s permissions is to open a ticket and a staff member will need to give them back to you. This is totally contingent on availability and access to the game.

Pinned to Channel #

Many of the discord channels have items and important information pinned to them. You can see this info by checking the pushpin on the top right of the channel/page.

Staff #

All of our staff are volunteers and have lives outside of FOC (at least most do) that work hard to make this a sustainable and fun community. Please be patient and allow time for tickets and other support requests.

We have semi-regular recruitment for staff positions when we have openings/need help. If you are interested in helping FOC in the staff wait for these drives to apply.
